Governed in the public interest.
IIBD is a federally incorporated Canadian not-for-profit. This page sets out how we are governed, how we manage independence, and where to find our reporting.
Independence from Common Practice
IIBD is governed and operated independently from Common Practice Advisory Ltd., a distinct for-profit firm. Any shared personnel or related-party transactions are managed through IIBD's conflict-of-interest and procurement policies.
IIBD does not operate as a consultancy and is not principal-led. It speaks and acts as an institute, governed by its board in the public interest.
How we manage independence
Our analysis is independent of the interests of any partner or funder. Findings are reported plainly, including where they are inconvenient. Community partners retain the data, the tools, and the credit for work done together.
Transparency & reporting
We are committed to transparent governance and public reporting. Formal records and annual reporting will be published here as they are finalized.
